VLOOKUP practice

VLOOKUP finds a value in the first column of a range and returns a value from another column in the same row. It is one of the most used functions in business spreadsheets — for price lists, employee directories, and inventory.

The basic form is =VLOOKUP(search_value, range, column_number, FALSE). FALSE means exact match, which is what you want almost every time.

XLOOKUP is the modern replacement. It is more flexible and easier to read. Both appear in the exercises here, along with INDEX/MATCH for cases where the lookup column is not on the left.

The free tier includes a simple lookup. Pro adds error handling, multiple criteria, and the patterns used in real reports.
